Go way out beyond the rush, rumble, push and tumble of everyday life, turn left when you feel the peace of the mountains and the calm of the sea, and down in a peaceful valley you'll find Kenmare. It is at the edge of the universe and yet it is the centre of its own universe, surrounded as it is by Beara, Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas, containing between them the most beautiful scenes ever imagined by a creator and quite unimaginable by man. Taking them in when we see them is pure joy, trying to capture them on photos or video is another challenge. It's the panoramic effect you get when in the midst of it that creates the awe factor. I'm going to try to capture what I can on video. If they're not just perfect pictures it's not the subject matter it's the merely human videographer and the limits of an iPad. Anyone want to bring over a panoramic lens and a camera worthy of this challenge. Or a gifted paintbrush? Here's a little sample video of the bay as we walk from our home to Kenmare. Take a peek, but in the end it's probably best to come over yourself.
Below is the northern coastal road along the Beara Peninsula betweeen Eyries and Allihies.
